stranded!!

I have been having a recent problem where the fuel pump I think(due to if I move around the fuel pump relay it stops) keeps running with a slight buzzing sound even after the car is off. This killed my battery ans left me stranded.
Any suggestions on a fix will help me greatly.

I would suspect the relay, not the pump.

I second the relay.

Quite..if you have a piece of wire/paper clip you should be able to get the car up and running again if the relay is indeed done.

You need to jumper pins 7&8 and that will bring 12V to the pumps, ie, they will be on as long as that jumper is in there.

seeing as the relay is designed to be held in[operating]by what mercedes calls the "TD" signal that is put out by a running spark module,i would also agree.the only other way the relay pulls in is by terminal 50 which operates the starter,so unless the starter is operating at the same time? the fuel pump relay has to be the culprit.

So, you'd have to remember to take the paper clip/wire out once you get home, right? Would the pumps keep running if you didn't?
