Unhappy Central Locking Issues 95 E300D W124

Issues with Central Locking:
124.131

Driver Door:

1) Unlocking: The driver door lock can unlock everything.
2) Locking will arm the alarm and lock everything but the fuel filler flap.
2a. This will not automatically raise all windows

Passenger Door:

3) Unlocking: The passenger door lock can unlock everything but the driver door.
4) Locking will arm the alarm and lock everything but the driver door and fuel filler flap
4a. This will not automatically raise all windows

Trunk:

5) Unlocking: The trunk lock can unlock everything but the driver door.
6) Locking will lock everything but the driver door and fuel filler flap
6a. This will not automatically raise all windows nor will it arm the alarm

Alldatadiy was zero help...I've researched this everywhere I can imagine.

I see the new modification that is recommended for this chassis but it doesn't make a great deal of sense. There are two yellow lines running from the back of the vacuum pump under the rear seat to the rear of the car. Then there are four more yellow lines running to the front of the car. Please forgive the blurry picture...if needed I can re-shoot them.

The new modification (see second image) shows only one line leaving the vacuum pump now and almost immediately the line conects into a T fitting that goes one way to the front and one way to the rear.

This thread is the closest to my issue but it doesn't address my issue exactly: http://tinyurl.com/29yuxc

The rear seat revealed a wonderland of lost crayons, quarters all manner sticky gooey gobs of stuff.

I have new flap actuator but I can't for the life of me find a description of how to remove it from the boxed in location Took out the right side amplifier and set it aside out of the way so that I can sort of see it.

Any ideas on where to start with the ol Mightyvac and what to try??

Sounds like you have at least 2 vacuum/pressure leaks. Address those problems first.

The drivers door element & the gas flap element.

Okay, that's what I thought, looks like my troubleshooting is even par to this point.

So, first, I focused on the gas door fuel filler flap issue. I can hear the pump working but it doesn't close the element. Again, I purchased the new vacuum element for the fuel filler flap but I still need to know how to take the old fuel filler flap vacuum element off.

I have the right rear trunk liner out, removed one of the stereo amplifiers so I could peak at it a little better but even crawling in the trunk I still can't see how it is held in place as it is tucked up in behind the metal support. I don't feel any screws and I don't want to snap something because I took it off without understanding how to do so.

I would appreciate a pointer here...just give me a search term to find it or a book to buy with the information in it.

OK, from the deafening silence I surmise that I either have to fix the driver door actuator/vacuum line at the same time as the fuel filler flap, it's an expensive private secret lesson or my mouthwash isn't making it.

[or I could disconnect the line leading to the actuator, plug it and deal with it when I'm ready! Which is what I've done...I'm still getting used to the idea of bypassing vacuum elements]

Testing central locking supply pump distributor 124.131 E300D

Here is the information I used to determine how to separate the distributor from the supply pump, test it and test the lines for leaks. It was very nice to know how to detach it without guessing...then even nicer to have a chart to decipher which lines were which without having to physically trace them.

The distributor should be here tomorrow so I don't know if it will fix everything...can't wait to install it and see.

Remove replace fuel filler flap actuator 124.131 E300D

Even with the direction to "press away to remove" I still don't understand how the fixing plate is used to remove the actuator. It would seem that it would be pressed toward the center to remove but whatever...I tested my actuator and it was fine so fortunately I won't need to try this yet.

In any case, this one is for future E300D neophytes facing the problem I had....

Gas door lock actuator

Does anyone have a better way of describing how to remove this item properly? I still haven't fixed it myself and there is another person who is having the same difficulty. thanks....

Me 2

Im having the same problem with my E230 1997 model.

The back right door and the fuel filler cap are not working.

The back right door unlocks but doesn't lock and the fuel filler cap does not work at all.

Is it hard to remove the panels on this model and i have no idea how to reach the fuel cap lock

Matt
