Question 89 300sel Won't move!? -NEED ADVISE

I backed out of my parking place this morning just as always and put the car in drive and nothing happened. Tryed putting the car in reverse again and still nothing.

Fluid level looks fine. No leaks. No shifting issues before this ever.
The car only has 110K and the fluid was change at 90k when I bought the car.

What should I look at first?

Bob

Check your linkage to see if it is still connected.

just about the only thing that can cause a sudden problem with trans like that is a valve stuck in the valve body or the front pump died[extremely rare].you can check pump by recording level on dipstick with engine off and then with engine running[if level drops with engine on then pump ok].
