w124 seat adjustment problem
Hey guys, my uncle gave me a 400E and on the seat adjuster on the passenger door the back switch does not work, however the headrest and bottom section work perfectly. Is there a way I can adjust the back rest manually? It's really uncomfortable for my friends haha. Could this be a problem with the seat motor or the switch? Is there anything I can do?

Ok you need to take off the switch and fix it. It is mechanical and consists of a load of small ball bearings and levers. They have most likely fallen out of place. It looks very confusing at first, but everything is very logical.
Just pull off the black panel along with the switches, unscrew both screws either side of the black box inside(thats the unit), unplug the power to them and remove. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the unit. BE CAREFUL. The ball bearings will fly everywhere if you do it too frantically so be careful and do it slow. Once it is open just clean the contact points and put it all back together.
