check-valve ID? - 1991 190E 2.3
 

The check valve in the vacuum line to the brake booster has a broken connector - I have only located the part as an element of the booster vacuum line, for $45. Is the check valve available separately? Part #? Thanks.

MB offers only a complete line for most MB applications incl that one.

I was afraid of that - it appeared the tubing had been shrunk to the check valve ports. Since the valve input port was broken, but not completely separated, I epoxied it back together. I used liberal additional epoxy for structural reinforcement. After curing, I tested - idle was smooth and brakes had consistent assist again. I then slathered lots more epoxy over the valve body and hose ends - with luck this will forestall replacing the whole assembly.

Well, not impressed with the 4-minute JB Weld I used. Car was idling rough again for my wife today, so I checked when she got home, and the repaired port had cracked again right though the epoxy. I re-repaired with more epoxy, building up a substantial thickness. After partial cure, I wrapped the whole mess with aluminum tape, topped with liberally applied coating of RTV. Then I ordered the new assembly. Hopefully this time it will last a week or so 'till the part arrives.
