Sometimes the hazard switch gets caught between on and off. Making sure it is completely off will sometimes fix the problem. Otrherwise you could have a bad hazard switch which is also your turn signal relay. Cheap and easy fix.

The relay might need cleaning.
I dont know where it's located on yours, but on my 83 w126, it's in the drivers side footwell. just follow the clicking; really. check all lamps also - be sure they have the OEM voltage requirements and are NOT a higher voltage/wattage model.
