no-start odd cause? 87 300e
Just a quick question -
When I was working on my 87 300E awhile back, I ended up being an idiot and dropped a ratchet extension and a socket into the front of the engine, and I wasn't able to get it out - it didn't look like it was interfering with anything, so after a couple hours I said screw it, and lived with it. I'm facing a no-start situation now, but I was curious as to whether or not this might affect it. As near as I can tell, its stuck above the harmonic balancer and isn't touching anything important, but you never know. Just thought I'd throw that out there as maybe a possibility. John

fixed - ended up being a combination of the CPS, EZL module, and bad plugs. Now to tackle the rough idle in D and R, something I think is caused by the motor mounts I need to replace anyways.
Side note: after the CPS, EZL, and plugs were done, the idle wasn't as rough as before in R and D.
