1989 190e Guage removal

I need help on how to remove my guages. I got them pulled out but now I cant get them out further then 2 inches.. Whats it getting stuck on.. Please help...

You need to undo the speedometer cable, which is a knurled fastener behind the speedometer

You might have to disconnect the speedometer cable at the transmission and feed it up a few inches in order to get enough room to disconnect it from the cluster. Do not stress the cable as you don't want to stretch or kink it.

I will suggest to take off the panel (the one under the cluster). Then, take the air hose and you will have enough room to unscrew the speedometer cable.

Don't pull too hard the gauge with the speedometer cable on because it will break the cable!!!
