I have a 190e that I put a hitch on. For the lights I took out the rear light assembly and took it apart and soldiered some wires to the right places. I bought a connector pair that the trailer lights plug into. I also have one of those widgets that converts the seperate turn/brake light into one. I just run the wire out the trunk when towinr, its not too thick to bother the seal.

In Europe trailer hitches come with a wire harness and connectors that can be plugged between the taillight assemblies and the taillight connectors. Some models need to get an additional relay and wire running to the front to prevent the light-bulb warning light to illuminate.
greetingz,
