Testing of the air temperature sensor
Can some one indicate how to test the air temperature sensor located on the air intake. Can it be very critical to the idle of the engine if the sensor goes faulty.
I assume it is a resitor changing with Temp. What should be the right values versus temperature? The car is 260E W124 1988 euro. Thanks in advance |
Room temp [ approx 20C/68F } - 2500 ohms

Is it really for AIR temp? because the value is very similar to the one at 20C for the coolant temperature. Is it a PTC or a NTC? |

IAT Negative coefficient 1700 ohms at 30C |

G'afternoon all,
I have the sensor as well and wondering what does it affect? Also how can we clean it ? As it seems to be black with soot... Thanks in advance. My harness for this sensor is broken and I have proceed to use splicing tape to cover it back. Enjoy!;) |

i would like to set a resistor with some value of ohms, and leave the old sensor in the intake hole. Main question for me is what kind of resistor should i buy ? my merc is W210 E250D-turbo 1998' 110kW no MAF sensor, feels like there is something wrong with diesel/air mixturing.. |
