Transmission Fluid MB vs Febi
Gentelmen
I ordered 10 qt of MB 001-989-21-03-10 for my 1996 SL600 from Fastlane. I received 10 liters of Febi Nr. 22806 Dexron III/Dexron III-H. Phil generally has this stuff shipped to me from Mercedes Dealers. Are the Dealers using Febi? Is this oil an acceptable replacement or do I need to send this back. John Roncallo |

Just bought 8 quarts of the genuine MB tranny fluid from my dealer (001 989 45 03 13). According to my tech, this is the fluid used in the newer transmissions, but he said that it works well in the earlier models too, especially the diesels that shift hard. It lists for 12.50/qt.

Febi is a re-packager..
That should be = to that older formula 722.6 trans fluid! No reason to worry.
