I have talked with so many about the various scanner techniques. This site is now offering an interesting OBDII software package for Palm devices.

I am wondering if there would be any interest in a weekend seminar on the many tools available and their use. I would love to participate in one at the future opening of Donnie and Bill's new shop. I also wouldn't mind doing one in my shop in Gainesville if there could be a group of 20 or more. My thoughts are a 4-5 hour session on a Saturday. I would be glad to donate my shop and my time if those coming would bring the refreshments.

Steve - pencil me in for a seminar

on doing an analysis of the 1995 E320. I, along with others I am sure, would be more than happy to actually pay and provide refreshments (any Jack Daniels or Miller Light drinkers on here) to come to Gainesville to learn the proper way to "scan" the brains on their MB's. A couple of thoughts - don't just limit it to learning how to do the scan - how bout - a) wheel bearing job/tightening, b) lubing the sunroof rack, c) adj. those 300D valves, etc - well you get the point. I personally, could use a lesson on how to use the steth. to pinpoint where noises are coming from. Maybe do a survey and see what the people want to go over. I will need AT LEAST two to three weeks notice on the date.

Very Cool idea !!

Maybe do it in the winter and us Winter Blues guys could turn it into there vacation excuse.
Might bring a bigger crowd.

Hi Steve! That is a very good idea to know what is OBDII and how to use Palm devices if is possible put the 4-5 hour session on VHS tape for sale I'll be the first one to order because for guy like me have to open business for six days a week and Sunday hvae to be a Happy family man just don't have extra time to go,I believe people will order that tape and pay for it.

I would more than gladly pay for a quality VHS tape demonstrating OBD II Scanning as well as some other things like properly adjusting CIS systems. I think it could be a hot seller on this site

Steve Brotherton's offer to tesch a scanner class is absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately, alot of us won't be able to make it. Wish I lived in Georgia/northern Florida!

The idea of producing a VHS tape is GREAT! I'd buy one if it were available for my ride.

Regards.

The reason that I mentioned doing this at Donnie and Bill's shop is that I figured the best possible situation would be if various shops around the country could host such an affair. I love traveling and could use such meetings as a reason to see some new areas (not that I want to or need to run the show).

And talking about "Show" I don't think I would be up to the task of making a production of this. I am not a trainer and normally do not do well in front of a crowd. I do well writing because nobody is looking at me and I have time to think (and correct). My idea would be a show and tell sort of arrangement without a lot of agenda. People bringing cars with problem or codes could get them looked at and whatever happens, happens.

This is a super idea! Now you have my attention. We just need someone to organize it and figure out how much of a fee for attendance.

I think many people, techs and the public could learn from this sort of deal.

I will be a speaker, and I do well in front of crowds.
