1995 S320..No Overdrive
 

Hi Folks...This is the greatest resource for my car I have ever found, certainly better than the manual.

I have a 1995 S320 with many many miles on it...240K.

It has driven fine all summer. However this morning with temps in the 60's it was only occasionally shifting into overdrive, and then only staying in overdrive for several seconds before downshifting again. I played with the shift lever....no help. I suspect that it is temp related. Any suggestions as to what to look for? I really appreciate any help with this!

those 5th gear packs are notorious for burning out.prob needs new clutches and spacers.the good news is i believe you can access by removing only the tail shaft housing from trans.
