o.v.p connector tightening
 

anybody got an idea how i could tighten the round connector ends on the inside of the ovp seat/connector point ? i can push/pull mine in and out fairly easy and about once a week i have to pull it and re-seat it. it doesnt "click" as i've read many people write. in fact,im not even sure if there should be another little "lip" or whatever that would help hold it down.......also,is there ever a time that white smoke should come off of my 02 sensor ? last week i pulled in the garage and in 10 minutes the garage was full of smoke,all of it coming off of the 02 sensor,which has less than 5,000 miles on it..........any help would help ! thanks guys..

White Smoke usually is the burning of engine oil. The O2 sensor is usually plug into the enhaust half way out. So I wonder if its the O2 sensor causing white smoke. How do you know it comes from the O2?

Also the OVP connectors are like the wiring harness, power connectors, have a look at them and they should be able to be tightened. Should just be time consuming and dex fingers.

I noticed the ovp is really shaky
can move it side to side
may need to look into the base prong myself...

White smoke is water in the combustion. Blue smoke is oil, black smoke is running rich.

Why not tell us what year/model you are referring to? If it's the 190 (W201) like in the photo, the connector for the OVP relay is not in a fixed position. If you pull the relay out, you have to support the base/connector to fully seat the relay. Also, if you have someone turn on the ignition, hold the relay with your fingers and you should feel the relay operate.

Mine has a base in a box under hood

I would say it has excessive rock to it

know that can't be good
but don't know how bad

Its more likely the base is moving & prong still have connection
but its also a concern it could be causing intermittent contact

put in a new one just for insurance as old had 200 K on it
but like to know if thereis a problem why it rocks back & forth if you push it..
base is wobby
