keyless after market w/ optional W124

hi, just got an original keyless entry from e320'95 w124. and I've done it the installation and working great ( for the lock and unlocking only)

i believe the keyless / remote has more functionality than just lock and locking the the door,
like rolls up / down the 4 windows at the same time when the button being pushed for couple of second

another option is, it has an anti engine starting when the door being locked by remote ( not manually)

my questions
1. anyone has any idea how to install these option ???
2. can i get the diagram for the installation ???

well, if it is possible please email me.... my email is a_prakersa@yahoo.com

thanks guys......

For my '95 E320 Wagon I also have a keyless remote. It came with the car. It's made by Avitar Technologies, Inc. You can get an owner's manual P/N 32-5003 and an installation manual P/N 31-5003 if your remote is the 5003 model. The system will disable the starter. Problem with all these devices is that, if someone really wants the car, they cut a hole into the hood and disconnect the battery. Then they load the car on a truck and ship it. What works for me, is that I back it up with insurance by Smith & Wesson.

Into what year and model did you install this unit?

Does the car you installed it in have the "convenience feature"? Convenience feature is what allows commanding the windows and sunroof by holding the key in the lock/unlock position.....

into year 86... 260E
for the convenience feature im not sure, because i installed the keyless entry for about 5 years ago...and before i installed it i didnt know that my car came with convenience feature or not....
i believe car comes with convenience feature has additional module or something ... if it has... where the additional module is?? what's it look like?

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe your car has the convenience feature.

Convenience feature was an option (option code 88?) available on later model 124s

You are correct--there is a module associated with this feature. In the case of my 94 and 95 E320, it is located under the rear seat squab on the drivers (left--USA) side.

This module also handles other functions, Im not sure if it could be easily retrofitted......

Out of curiosity, where did you get this infra red unit? Somewhere I read that this option was only available on cars delivered in Germany.

gonna check it out tomorrow morning....

i got the keyless entry from junyard / wrecker.....

i guess u can get the keyless from singapore..... lots of it... they sell the aftermarket as well

just wondering, of course your w124 comes with keyless entry????

J. M. van Swaay 10-14-2007 09:03 AM

My 124s did not come with keyless entry. I installed modified aftermarket units so that I could command the convenience feature via the remote....

damn.....*&^&%$$&*(^)(

got no module like that....

is there any ways to activate that optional, i mean the roll up and down windows?

J. M. van Swaay 10-14-2007 11:45 AM

Anything is possible, but this would not be easy. Probably would require major rewiring, addition of switches and relays, etc.
