Thanks for the part numbers!

The bulbs have no markings at all stamped on their rings, so difficult to tell where they might have come from. I'm guessing I'll probably just have to make up some wires for the inside of the enclosures... no big deal really, just time consuming.

Mildly off the subject... I had the lenses polished just after I bought the car (they were very yellowed) and they came out looking nice, but I have since noticed that there is some slight frosting (I'm guessing from blowing sand) on the bottom of the lenses. Can this be polished out?

Further off the subject... as I continue on trying to get these lights up to snuff, I am wondering if some of the projector assemblies you see advertised on (the dreaded) ebay are of decent quality. Anyone had any experiences with these? I guessing that they are not nearly as good quality as the OEMs.

Well I'm not sure ebay is 'dread' rather the folks selling stuff are 'dreadful'. So you have a set of lamps created by Hella or Bosch which were carefully designed, tested, approved by numerous government rules and regulations in the usa, and europe.

Then you buy a set of lamps designed by ? which are tested by who? Likely coated in lead paint too.

However I have read about folks who have bought projector assemblies, then disassembled and replaced the questionable projectors with hella/bosch oem projectors they have bought from wrecked cars via ebay.

Thanks for the part number on those clips... I put out a request at parkplace, but haven't heard back yet. Sure make it hard not having a dealership within 100 miles! As for the wiring, I'm probably going to have to make up some new wires... just will have to see if I can make the connection at the cable connector on the housing.

I tested out the lights yesterday morning on the way to work... a vast improvement, but still not quite what I'm used to in a high beam. The bulbs truly do not have any markings whatsoever so, either the factory bulbs have no marking or these are some oddball that the previous owner installed. I am at the point that I am wondering how much cash one must sink into being able to see well at night; leads me into asking if anyone has any experience with some of the after market projector headlights. Seems like they can be had on ebay (oh, how I dread ebay!) for a couple hundred dollars/set. Seems awfully cheap for something of quality. I'm guessing they are pretty cheezy units, but don't know for sure... just wary of a set of "quality" lights for less that the price of a single OEM unit.

All of the german M-B forums I frequently visit have one thing to say about ebay " projector " lights,....STAY AWAY FROM THEM !;)
Believe me, they take their lighting VERY serious over there!
The fact that your bulbs have no markings on them would suggest they are probably some K-Mart specials.
Try some brand name bulbs and see what happens.
