Part number needed. Please help!
 

Hi guys,

I need a part number for climate control unit for 1996 S500. I bought this car and it had no climate control. PO bought the one that looks like the one that was in the car, but it doesn't work right. Defrost vent doesn't work, center vents always blow cold air, fan doesn't blow very hard even thought fan speed changes but airflow is weak, economy button doesn't work, temperature is changing, A/C engaging, aux coolant pump works, etc... Part number on the one that he installed is 210 830 0585. It seems to look the same as original equipment but I came across alldata and it showed part number 1408302385:confused: It looks like 210 and 140 are body style designations. Can somebody confirm that 96 s500 uses 1408302385 and not 210 830 0585?

The A/C "push button" control unit requires VERSION coding to work properly in that car & most MB's after 1995.

Mave sure that it has the correct version codes.
