94 C280 engine code P1700
Thanks for the response to previous questions... I now have retrieved the CEL code P1700 witch appears to be either <transmission up shift delay switchover valve> or a faluty vacuum block, from what I have found in other MercedesShop.com posts... as I have had no problem with the transmission I tend to believe it is vacuum block. Am curious the center vents have stopped blowing air for some weeks now, would this vacuum block have anything to do with this as well??

What that code P1 700 means is that the transmission is shifting too quickly when the engine is COLD. The up-shift delay is emission related & makes the trans to hold 2nd gear longer to allow the catalyst come on-line more quickly.
Vacuum leaks are the most common problem. |
I believe so...I just replaced my vacuum adapter and broke a connector. So for a coupole of days there was nothing while I located and purchased the part...once back in, worked fine.

Hi,
I have a 99 C230 Kompressor. The check engine light came on and the code is Po720. I had the transmission fluid replaced a few months ago. The car has 60K. Any thoughts? Should I reset the shift pattern or adjust the vacuum modulator and throttle cable? Thanks! |
P0 720 on that car means that a spees sensor on the "conductor" plate isn't functing properly.
Part number is 140-270-08-61($220 list) & requires removal of the valve body. |
Po720
Thanks! So where is this valve body at?

shouldnt this be a "new thread?"
