Time to resurrect this thread. I checked the OVP--has new part number, tapping has no effect. I did check for codes again, two were present. HFM/SFI (pin 8) gave 45 flashes--code sheet says fuel safety shut off of electronic accelerator or cruise control active. also got 11 flashes from EA module (pin 14)--code sheet says closed throttle recognition signal to engine control module or fuel safety shut off to engine control module. Seems to me this might be related to my symptoms. From my limited knowledge, I know the ECU will cut off fuel supply under certain conditions. Could this be what is happening? any other ideas?

See if there is slack in the cable at idle and see if it is hanging up..they can be adjusted and lubed.
