In short, what is a fuel pump check valve? What's it's purpose, and how would you know if they need changing!??

allows fuel to flow in only 1 direction. Retains fuel pressure for restarting.

Thanks MB Doc, my mech seems to think that changing them will cure my hesitation at wide open throttle! (full load)

On kickdown, it hesitates/jerks at 60mph or above. Every thing on the KE CIS has been changed!

Even the main dealer cant figure it out!
