In most markets you could order a smaller diameter size steering wheel from factory. This wheel had a different design from the standard one and it also featured a quicker lock to lock ratio. It's also harder to turn as the power steering system is sportier. My E 320T was ordered with it (first pic).

I have seen the other sport wheel in some catalogs, although I don't really like it personally (second pic).

Ups, sorry! I would personally never fit anything not designed by Mercedes to a Mercedes, but that is just my personal opinion.

Before I succumb to the "buy stuff, you need it" programming that seems so pervasive now a days, I would take care of more important things first. Plus you're going to need every red cent pretty soon , the way gas prices are going. Some new steering wheel isn't going to do dick when it comes to mpg, or anything else. And as far as I know, a different steering wheel, doesn't increase your chances of getting laid either.
If, by chance some woman does think so, I wouldn't do her with a stolen johnson, because anybody that stupid and shallow might be contageous.

But, hey....that's just my opinion, and you know what they are.
