I believe I have a problem with the alarm/immobiliser system on my car which stays on after I have started the engine causing the engine to die after approx 40 Seconds. We have checked the elec part of the ignition switch with another unit and it is working fine I am interested to know if the fault could be to do with the flashing rear view mirror unit which you aim the remote key at to open the doors. Can any one help me. Does any one have elec have wiring diagrams.

If you had a problem with the alarm, I would think that the engine would not start at all.

To check this, go to the shut off element and check for vacuum (603 engine)... IF there is vacuum to the valve, the car is trying to shut it off. Then you have to check the solenoid to see if it is energized or if the solenoid is bleeding vacuum.
