Please Help - Fuses - '84 500sel
 

I have an 84 500SEL and the Interior lighting does not work, I checked the fuses and the fuse slot#15, I tried to replace and it flew back out blowing the fuse, then I had it tested, and it showed 80 amps coming through, it should be 8 amps for fuse 15...DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT WHY THIS WOULD BE OVERLOADING AT 80 AMPS...COULD IT BE THE RELAY OVERLOAD SWITCH????????? HELP HELP HELP PLEASE HELP

Not sure but look at the light in the trunk. The wiring is constantly being flexed.

The trunk light is not working either...Why?

F15 is for the key warning system, anti theft alarm system, courtesy lights, automatic antenna, trunk light, and power seat relays (not the seats themself, but just for the control of the power seat relays in the fuse block). I would guess that the problem is in the courtesy light system or antenna. This power goes to all 4 doors (lights in the bottom of each door), the trunk light and antenna motor, overhead lights, reading lights in the rear, etc. Try to think back if anything was done in any one of these areas just before this problem started.
