99 e430 airbox removal
 

I've a lamp out in the passenger side headlamp cluster. While the owner's manual says you can simply unclip the cover there isn't sufficient space to remove it. This has been reported by others with the suggested fix to remove the headlamp - I'm wondering if it's easier to remove the box the air filter sits in?

Has anyone removed this box? If so how is it done.

Removing the headlamp is a doddle, it won't take you more than 10 minutes.
