300E electric fan squealing

The electric fan in front of the radiator decided to start working this weekend. It stays on all the time and is embarassingly loud.

Should this fan be on all the time? If not is there an easy connector or fuse i can temporarily disconnect until i get it fixed? Its getting colder here so if it is controled by a temp sensor it may not kick on anyway.

Is there a way to lubricate the fan without removing it? Can it even be lubricated or is this a sign its on its way out?

I just found the connector for the electric fan and disconnected it. I still would like to know if the fan should be on all the time and how to lubricate it to stop the squealing...

Try to locate where the shaft or bearing may be and shoot a wee bit of WD40 in.
