Greetings,

The vehicle is 1984 380SE.
There is a vacuum line that is either leaking, or the terminal device attached is leaking.

It's color coded purple-grey, and located on the same check-valve as the headlight level adjustment line, at the firewall next to fuse box. It goes around the fuse box into the body, and don't where it's gone after that. Tried looking through the CD-ROM, but haven't found any clues so far.

Can someone tell me what it's for?

If it goes inside it's more than likely to connect to the climate control.. Have you had any problems with defroster, heater, ac, etc.

See if moving the headlamp height adjustment switch changes the rate of leakage....

Hi guys,

I found the leak while repairing the headlamp adjuster, and traced it down to faulty check valve (replaced) and that leaking line/device. Currently I have the line pulled from check valve and blocked off, as well as the empty output on the check valve.

The headlamp adjustment works fine, and doesn't effect anything else. As to A/C related operations, I do't have problems with anything, at least I think I don't.

The thing is, all(I think) the vacuum lines that go into the dash go through a grommet on the firewall. Where as this purple-grey line goes into a hole, behind the hood hinge, along with a red-grey line, which is the line for vacuum resvoir.

Hmmm...maybe that goes to the resvoir as well?
