I'm not one of those people strong enough even with help to take the head off. The little hoist I have makes the job easy.

ron....why did you have to take off your head?

is this one of the 124's that you did the valve stem seals..?

i finally did that job on the 260e...now need to do it on the 300ce

This is the 92 300 TE with 153K miles. Coolant was leaking from the left rear of head. Usually it's oil but in this case it's coolant. And yes I did do valve stem seals on this car.

Ron, pull those heavy old exhaust manifolds off the head first - you'll feel like Superman, able to toss that head around like a toy.
Then again, shoulder rotator cuff irritations take months to heal!
Cool job on the little lift.
