I am thinking of getting a Service CD for a w124 chassis but I was wondering what kind of info these CDs have that perhaps my owners manual does not have.

Thanks in advance for any info...more thanks if your willing to sell your CDs used. ;-)

Mercedes servicer CDs

I have just been looking at the rundown itemised in the DIY
header.I presume you did the same as me & scrolled down to get the chapter headings? I would expect them to be more detailed & comprehensive than my handbook.Perhaps some of the more experienced guys can advise?

Yours owners manual contains operational information.

The CD-Rom's are digitized versions of paperback repair manuals. Mercedes produced a "Maintenance Manual" for cars from 1981-1993. It contains instructions for tasks such as fluid/filter replacement, etc. This manual is included within the CD-Rom for 126 cars. Don't know about 124s.

If you plan on doing repairs/maintenance, you're going to need documentation. The CD-Rom is loaded with information.
Some complain about ease-of-use, or the lack of it. It takes awhile to get used to, but it's all there with the exception of transmission repair.

I believe this site sells the MB CD-Rom's.

The CD manual for the W124 chassis is actually a 2 cd set, so the price may be a bit higher than the one for the other chassises.
