Post Did anyone use carsoft products?

I'm planning to buy from http://www.carsoftsales.com/mb/index.htm
They have another site: http://www.carsoftinternational.com/carsoftmb.htm I wounder why!!!

I sent them my info and they contacted me. Mainly I'm concerned about two things:

1. Is it a great diagnostic tools for Mercedes-Benz?
2. Could it be a sort of SCAM? Because someone called me and said that they have a special offer and their offer price decreased by 1650 Euro.

If you recommend other tool that similar to the Original Star Diagnostic please tell me.

Waiting your replies impatiently.

I've heard good things RE: Carsoft.. Should you pull the trigger I'd be curious to hear your 1st hand opinion.

If you have a '95 or older Mercedes, a $1 electronic LED is all you need to read and erase diagnostic codes. For these cars one might not be able to justify the purchase of an expensive scanner.

For newer cars Carsoft is probably a reasonable choice. But rather than spend several thousand dollars for a product direct from Carsoft, one can get a Chinese copy of same on eBay for just $100-$220. I can conditionally recommend these, and I wrote about my experience here: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129-sl-class/1315950-diagnostis-later-cars.html?.

I bought Carsoft multiplexer from eBay from Germany but I couldn't diagnose any car. All the settings are correct. It's always says that the module is not responding. I connected it to a serial port directly (COM1). Any help?
