SLS damper replacement / refurbishing

I could not find any info about the SLS damper itself. Is it possible to remove these and refurbish them? I know on my BMW I can buy a O-ring/valve kit and replace all the internal leaking seals with new ones.

Is it hard to replace the damper?

I guess the system uses fluid from the servo reservoir?

The 'cells' are sealed up...so I don't believe one could 're-build' them. The diaphram inside is what commonly fails and new OE replacement cells are only about $100 USD.

Pretty easy to change them out of my W124.036 (IMO) without a lift btw...should be similarly easy on the W124 wagon. Yes, the power steering pump circulates the fluid from that reservoir in the engine bay (on the 500E)...I'm guessing its the same-ish on a wagon.

No way to fix or rebuild the dampers. must buy new. I recommend doing both, they all fail over time and if one is gone the other is surely to follow soon. it is an easy job, just dirty, you will likely be wrist deep in hydrolic fluid when you are done, but it is an easy job.
