W202 - Code Galore

So it all started with the clutch/bearing going out on my C23K. I got a rebuilt one from eBay and installed it.

Now I get codes:

1420
0446
0443
1525
1235
1236
0135
0141

Amazing isn't it? :veryangry

I've went back to basic, removed everything except the supercharger and checked my work.

Car still drives albeit in a lethargic manner

Please help me get my baby well, I will be a humble student. I already bought a code scanner and ready for class :D

Thanks.

Check vacuum routing..if that looks good, then either a blown fuse in the "K40" relay or a bad K40...located in the computer box at the RR of the engine compartment.

Thank you for your response.

I looked hard at the vacuum routing and di dnto disturb them but I will look at that aspect today.

On the K40, is it in the drivers side box or passenger side?

Tomguy 12-11-2007 01:05 PM

RR = right rear as viewed from driving position, so in the Americas or mainland Europe you'd be talking passenger side. In those countries that recognized the "authority of the queen" until more recently, you're talking driver's side.

Thanks Tom, your wit is duly noted Sir :D

Okay I looked at the K40 and it had a blown 15A fuse. The CEL light went away after I changed the fuse.

Then it came back but only a P1235 this time. The fuse did not blow.

I am waiting patiently like a good student :)

PO 1235 says " Supercharger Function "
No idea what that means.

QuickSilver2 12-12-2007 12:21 AM

Thanks Manny. Any others?

How do you test if the compressor clutch is working, how do you test if the supercharger is being given a go signal?

manny 12-12-2007 03:42 PM

I believe ( not 100 % sure ) if you rev the engine above 2000 rpm, the clutch should engage ( probably visible & audible with the hood up ).
Another option would be to temporary install a boost gauge ( 0 - 10 psi ), drive down the road and give her the boot. ;)

Resolved!!

Thanks Guys, perceverance and your assistance worked.

So I went out there and hooked up 12V to the compressor and that part worked so I at least know the compressor works.

Then I took out the K40 again and opened the back, everything looked good, I pulled out each fuse and reseated it.

The CEL went out which gave me hope and I left for a test drive.

Leaving my driveway I fishtailed out into the street :D Oh yes it's fixed ;)

I definetely have more power with this new supercharger.

Thanks once again.

Labour: $ 200.00
Parts: $ 500.00
Diagnostics: $ 50.00
Fun Factor: Priceless. :D

I enjoyed my commute inmensely this morning.

I was unable to hear the compresor before and the air sucking/pumping noise but it's there now :D

To paraphrase someone else on another forum, the power that such as a little supercharger can add to the driving enjoyment is just amazing.
