92 300E, Headlight switch replacement

Sorry if this is already posted...searched but couldn't find it.

1992 300E sedan, Headlight switch replacement

I think that my headlight combo switch needs to be replaced. How easy is this for a DIY? Seems like it would be fairly simple...but I've said that before. Thought I'd ask the experts first. Any instructions or photos of this replacement?

Thanks for any help or advice.

Just to clarify...

Looked at parts in the shop here...my guess is that I need to replace the "headlight switch". How is it removed, through the front or back of dash panel, etc? (sorry for the newbie question that may be obvious). :-)

lalan, as I recall, the knob pulls directly off the front with a good jerk. There you will find a large thin nut holding the piece in place. You may need to remove the dash piece around the switch -- if so, it is straight-forward.

Your search here should hit a few threads because that is how I knew to do it to remove my cruise control amp a few years back.

Keep asking questions. There is a ton of knowledge here.
