Hi,
The rear end of my E500 (Starmark, 52K) is bouncy. The feeling is manifested by bouncing with FINGERS and when changing lanes at speed and when accelerating hard (heavy squat - not experienced when suspension was working normally). The dealer changed the nitrogen cells. There is no change in the suspension characteristics. The only change is that the rear ride height has dropped significantly. Wheel centre to fender is 35cm front and 37cm back. Car actually looks lowered in the back. Any ideas as to what is causing these problems? Thanks farrukh |

If it's "bouncy", then I would suspect shocks. The decrease in height you say is significant. If you know, how much lower is it? The installation of the nitrogen cells would be suspect..

bouncy rear end
It ain't supposed to be that way you know it, they know it, don't settle for crappy service. If the dealer did not properly vent any nitrogen from the top of the shocks, you have 'nitrogen filled' shocks instead of 'oil filled' ones. Take it back, call the area service rep and have him explain it to the folks.
