How can I remove the gear shifter to replace my torn rubber 4 speed boot? Chilton's does not explain this. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Lift the shift boot & you will find a 14 or 15mm jam nut that holds the shift knob in place. Loosten the nut & then unscrew the knob.
