Mercedes "Brake Anti Squeal Paste" vs. NeverSeize
I have used the little pouches of Mercedes Brake Anti Squeal Paste, which is a silvery paste. I have been told it is the same as Anti Seize from Permatex aka Never Seize. It certainly looks identical to me and is the same thickness. Does anyone know if this is exactly the same stuff?

I can categorically state that it is the same thing. I took some residue when I was replacing brake pads and analyzed it in the lab. The residue contained microscopic flakes of metal, same as Never Seize. I can't remember which metal, though. I think it was copper.

You're right. The paste is metal flakes with an organic carrier, probably some petroleum compound.
