Slk 280 losing power ??

Hello,

I am a new member to this forum and have search through some links and cant seem to find any info on the small slk 280. I have a 2001 that has 52,000 miles on it and has ran perfect since the day I bought it. The other day I getting up on the highway and the car just lost power. The engine was still running, but it was starving for fuel or misfiring, it just didn't have the power it usually does.

I let the car sit the rest of the day and it drove fine on the way home (maybe 3 miles). I took the car out again and it did the same thing no power.

I am a small engine mechanic and know my way around engines, but have never worked on this car. (The lack of transmission dip stick makes me know why) Could it be something as simple as a fuel filter or transmission filter? Any feedback would be great,,, My wallet runs and hides everytime I just drive by the Mercedes Shop.

I know nothing about your engine, but I think you are correct in considering a fuel filter. Most MBZ engines, especially the injected ones, require a lot of fuel pressure at the head of the fuel distributor.
