Pete, Help Is On The Way...

I am scanning the pages out of my Chilton's manual and will send them to you as an email attachment.

Basically, the door handle (latch) interior trim piece needs to be removed with a pry tool to get to the retaining screw for the trim piece on the upper armrest retaining screw, then you will be able to get to the upper armrest retaining screw.

Damned Mercedes!

They made these models too well...:D

I was glad to be able to respond quickly enough to be of assistance. I know what it's like to have something half taken apart and hit an impasse. I was glad to hear that you also got the window problem solved. What was it?

window problem?

Not sure how it happened but the weather strip that goes top to bottom in the door be came tangled out side of the track? This did not allow the window to go up all the way.Im not sure how this happened but I had to release the window motor and the regulator to get in and put it all back together the rite way.after doing this I went to work on the pass rear door to tackle the similar problem back there(new found confidence)it had a broken bushing in it.
