MBUSA Won't Pay for Consecutive 'B' Services?

Does this sound right to you? We have a 2004 C230K that includes the *full* scheduled maintenance for 4 years or 50,000 miles. The four years will be up on April 30 of this year; the car has 28K miles on it. The FSS indicates that the car is next due for a ‘B’ service in 6800 miles which I was hoping the dealer would do before the maintenance agreement expires. When I brought the car in last week for a separate issue, the service advisor told me that since my last service was a ‘B’ (done in late '06 or early '07), the next one has to be an ‘A’ service. I explained to him that the car indicates that it’s due for a ‘B’ and he said that since MBUSA is paying for the service, they go by the dealer service record and won’t pay for two consecutive ‘B’ services. So...because I didn't take it in for an 'A' they won't do a 'B'? This makes no sense to me. FYI, I take the car to an independent MB shop every 5000mi for an oil/filter change – in excess of what the FSS calls for. Has anyone heard this same story from their dealer? Is this actually MBUSA policy?

Thanks,

John

when you took it to the independent they probably reset the service indicator early. This caused it to call for a b service next. I wouldnt worry about it to much. The difference between the two services is pretty much a $12 dust filter under the hood that you could change yourself very easily.
