300e question
hi.. i have a question whats the difference from a 86 -90 euro mercedes 300e from a american 300e i never knew thanks for the help.
|
Cam (I'd assume) and the emission bits. The Euro V8 cars have different cams.
I think the Euro M103s that were catless + more cam had a slightly higher power rating, 190hp @ 5600rpm; 192ft-lbs @ 4250rpm according to what I remember. US was 177hp @ 5700rpm; 188ft-lbs @ 4400rpm Anyone with an Euro spec M103 car comment on the converters? |
well, I have 2 US 124s and 1 euro, so, the things I see different on the euro are:
1. No airbag 2. different climate controls and console 3. Manual rear windows 4. Slightly different interior trim 5. Five speed manual tranny (although some manual trannies were brought to US shores) 6. No side marker lights inside the US looking housings (mine were added later to certify the car and all exterior lights were "Americanized") 7. No third brake light ("Americanized", I removed it) 8. Ni license filler on the front bumper 9. No mirrors in the sun visors 10. No warning printed on the pass. side outside mirror A host of other little things which I cannot recall at the moment. Mine has cats as it was apparently fully "federalized" when brought in. |
