Power Seat 87 300e

I have an 87 300e and have the two issues.

1. The passanger power seat adjustment is parially broken (tilt works but back adjustment is not functioning). Does anyone know how I can over ride this and set it in a spot so I do not have to replace it right now? I just need to move the seat back about 8 inches.

2. The power window in the back works going down but sporatically going up. Suggestions?

Thanks!

For the second part about the window you can try to clean the switch. Sometimes the switches get gunked up and don't work right all the time. If you do, its really easy to search the forum and see how to take apart the switch and clean off the rockers and the contacts.

If it's not the motor(some seats have three)or the door switch, then try this to see if your problem in in the wiring. Ignition on so you have power to your accessories. Stand outside and push the switch to activate the seat motion you say does not work. While doing this move the door open or close as much as you can to see if the seat tries to work. If it does, then the wires in the harness going from the door to the chassis of the car have severed. Or or freyed.

I had both problems...

1. In my case, the holes in the seat harness (under the seat) where loose. Check them out...
2. The wires were broken between the door and the chassis. I used a voltemer to see if there was power to the window switch. I did not have it in my case. However, it could also be the window motor is going bad...

Good luck!
