Over the last week or two, I've had a few (increasing) events where I went to start the car after it was hot, then turned off for 15 to 30 minutes. The engine briefly fires, then dies with a loud gurgling noise in the fuel tank that lasts 5 or 10 seconds. Repeat gives no start. It will start after I remove the fuel cap. (This may be a red herring though, perhaps it would eventually start even without doing that, haven't tried it yet.) Does this loud gurgling noise in the tank sound diagnostic to anyone? Should I start with fuel cap replacement or does this sound like a pinched vent tube or vapor lock, bad fuel pump, bad check valves? Any suggestions???
Thanks
