'90 190E 2.6 Terrible Fuel Economy and Hard Start

Hello Everyone,

I purchased my 90 190E about 3 months ago and ever since I have had these problems with it. I have read many different threads on 190E hard cold start and then I saw one, where a member said that they were getting 20 mpg average. I am getting around 10 mpg most of the time, just curious if anyone here would know why this is the case. Also it is some what hard starting when cold and it doesn't always say running when it starts. I checked one of the fuses in the OVP. I will be checking the relay and the other fuse today, because I found that there are 2 of them today. If anyone could help me with either of these issues I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks in Advance
Jordan

I agree!! You might help someone else when they are searching the forum for a similar problem.

Smile Fixing The Hard Start

The fuse was blown in the OVP which is located on the passenger side behind the battery. I have seen many places that this is what runs the cold start components on the vehicle.

The fuel filter is located next to the fuel pump(s). Near the rear left wheel, there is a plastic cover over the fuel filter, pump(s) and accumulator.
