does anyone know how to remove the whole rv mirror assembly??

It's easy, Just grab it and pull HARD.

When you pull it off, brace yourself so you don't hit yourself or anything else. Pull it firmly towards the driver side. After that's off, you'll see the screws that need to be removed to take the base off.
