Koni, bilstien, monroe, KYB, and sachs. those are the only brands that are avilible for my car that i know of. i would prefer eibach buuuut.... they dont make ones that fit a 94 e420. im leanin torwards koni or bilstien but all u guys know which ones are best. OH! these arent just replacments these are going to be autocrossed on.

Koni Sports (yellows) along w/ H&R lowering springs. Add the 500E/124 Limo sway bars and you'll be doing quite well!

I just ordered a set of Bilstein HDs for my '97 S420. Most of the posts I have read on the subject favor them because of their OEM ride quality but better control. I haven't put them on yet, but I hope to do so this week. Most also agree to stay away from the Monroes. YMMV, of course.

I've had Sachs on my W124 and was happy with them. They were less expensive than the Bilsteins at the time I purchased. Mercedes OEM is usually Bilstein. Sometimes MB contracts Sachs. Most on this board favour Bilstein. I've only ever considered Bilstein or Sachs.

If you are going to autocross running HD's would be a major mis-step IMHO. You'll want that car set up as aggressively as possible, and Sports will be the way to go.

I run HD's in all my street cars, but anything that's going to see race like conditions needs something More.

Autocross in a E420? That's kind of outside the design spec, isn't it?
