ignition amplifier ???? 1984 190 E

is this a real part ? known by another name ? if so please inform me.

I can only think of:
Ignition Coil or Cruise amplifier. What is the car doing or maybe not doing?

Hi thank you , it wont crank at all makes no noise at all ,new battery , it is in excellent condition and i havent bought BUT it is at a garage and the person wno owns it will sell it for the garage bill the bill as of now is less than 500.00 but this mechanic says it needs an ignition amplifier ? they are country mechanics and i dont know them anyway he says the part is 1100.00 to 1300.00 , YES i know what the hell is up with that ,its a nice car but if this is the real case i wont touch it. any help i appreciated , thank you all so much.

also the highest priced ignition part i can find for a 190 e is around 330.00 and that is the control unit ,the modulator is around 170.00 so i dont know where he is getting his pricing from ???? well help if you can,thanks again.

the part he is likely thinking is the EZL, for a 1884 they arent that expensive, usually can be found second hand, try getting the part number if you can

Maybe I misunderstood but I think you said it wouldn't CRANK, meaning the engine won't even turn over. If that is the case, the EZL has nothing to do with it. I am not familiar with the 190 but there should be a place to jumper power to the starter to make it turn over. If it turns over that way then the Ign switch or the NSF is defective. Try cranking it in netural.

you can start a 190 with bad ignition by using a portable ignition unit and jumping the fuel pump relay.
