2000 S500

Front suspension squeak . If you jack up the front end the squeak will go away for 1 to 2 miles then come back. I tried spray on the sway arm bushings, no good. Then tried lube on rack shaft because the squeak happened standing still just moving the wheel a little. Thanks for your help

The "early" W220 chassis is somewhat WEAK. Lower control arms & ball joints have been modified due to premature wear.

If it sounds like a creaky hinge, it's probably the lower ball joints. We do several dozen every month.

Thanks for all the help.I tried putting a few drops of oil behind the rubber boot and it took the squeak out so I ordered lower ball joints. Thank again

Replaced one side today, what a job. The lower ball joint is pressed in so
tight I had to remove the hole pick and press it off on the bench vice.
The other side won't take as long now I have one under my belt. Thanks for the help Joe
