I've just bought a W202 C240 Sport. The engine is great. I love the noise. Will an AMG muffler enhance this? I want noise!

The standard rear bumper/valance seems to provide for a cut-out. Will I need to make modifications to fit an AMG muffler and exit pipes?

Roughly how much does the AMG muffler cost?

Thanks in advance@!

AMG mufflers are expensive. I believe they are north of $1000 for either the C43 or C36 versions. From what I've read, the AMG mufflers don't add much in terms of sound. Some have complained that they are just expensive versions of stock Mercedes mufflers with chrome tips. I can tell you from my own experience that Brabus mufflers do add a very deep growl. I've heard the same can be said for Lorninser. Any of the Mercedes tuner mufflers (AMG, Brabus, Lorinser, Renntech or Carlson) run from $700 to $1200. I've read posts from others who say Remus and other generic aftermarket mufflers also produce some desirable noise. They are also much less expensive, usually under $500. If you want to know all the options available to you, go to http://www.benzsport.com . There are numerous W202 owners who post regularly. Many have done some heavy modifications, exhaust being one of the most common. If you post this question there, you should get a number of good suggestions of models and the best place to buy them.

Thanks, I'll post on Benzsport, I've checked out that site before.

John: the C36 is looking good...
