Question about 126 power steering hoses
Both the return and pressure hose are leaking and need replacing/repair.
A local machine shop has rebuilt Asian power steering hoses for me quite well. I've done this simply because Honda charges a ridiculous price for new PS hoses. I wasn't able to locate PS hoses @ this sites parts shop or elsewhere on the WEB, leading me to believe that MB power sterring hoses are "dealer-only" and also outrageously priced. Has anyone successfully used rebuilt power steering hoses? Thanks for your time. |
I had to replace a PS hose on my W126 as it burst in the middle. The Mercedes part was about $60 which wasn't too bad. The local hydraulic people won't touch automotive hoses. The worst thing in my case was the delivery time for the hose over a holiday weekend.

Check the dealer prices and check fastlane. Sometimes the delaer prices are suprisingly cheap, sometimes they are shockingly beyond belief. I had to buy a valve cover hose that cracked when I removed the valve cover one hose was $10 less than Fastlane ,the other hose cost $27 more. But I needed them now.
