560sl horn

The horn in my 86 560sl is pretty sad. It really only works part of the time and when it does it sounds pretty sick. Could this be the horn going bad or is it wiring. When the horn isn't working at all I can still hear a faint, very faint..honk..like the beginning of a good honk but it never makes it to the honk..any ideas????
thanks inadvance!!!!

Order a new one from fastlane (on this homepage). I ordered both last month and now the horn sounds great. Very easy to put on, just under the bumper.

I purchased one at a time. The first time I guessed wrong. Go figure, 50/50 and I get the wrong one. Anyway, they are cheap and both now sound good. Yes, you need two different tones.

If you only need one horn get someone to operate the horn while you figure out which one isn't working. You can determine high or low tone by "tapping" on the horn face with a screw driver handle. One will have a higher ring to it than the other.

Randy D.
