W210 -- blower or regulator problem?

The a/c-heat blower does not turn on for several minutes after I start the car. Once it works, it works perfectly.
Does it sound like a regulator or blower motor problem?
Give the prices of these components I want to avoid trial and error.
I know about using the W140 regulator to avoid having to upgrade the whole system.

When the car is cold and the blower is set to auto it will not come up in speed until the engine warms enough to send warm air into the passenger compartment. You can over-ride this by manually setting the blower speed with the + and - arrows on the center control. Have you tried to manually set the blower speed to see if it responds on manual over-ride? I think what you are experiencing is the normal delay which prevents you from having cold air blow on you while the car warms up. It will not delay in A/C mode in the summer, just in the winter with heat. M-B has done this on all of the climate control systems since the 1970s.

Thanks.
We are talking about a 3 to 5 minutes delay. And I live in Houston, so my heater is not really needed.... it is nice and 70 lately.

I bought another regulator on ebay for $80, I will try that first and see.

I also have a similar problem after installing a new OEM Bosch replacement motor. I'm leaning towards the regulator as you are, as I do notice the motor speeds up minimally as I accelerate from a stop. I am looking forward to see if this fixes the problem, be sure to update your progress! :thumbup1:
